Manitoulin OPP charge driver after two vehicle collision

A major intersection on Manitoulin Island was closed for some six hours following a two-vehicle collision.

Manitoulin OPP Constable Marie Ford says on Saturday, just before 6:00 pm, police and medical services responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 540 and 542 in Gordon Township.

A north bound vehicle failed to stop for a stop sign and struck a vehicle travelling west.
The driver of the west bound vehicle was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Four people in the other vehicle were treated for minor injuries.

Ford says a 46-year-old from Kitchener has been charged with disobeying a stop sign.
