A long-time resident of Blind River has passed away. Vyrn Peterson died Tuesday at the age of 71. Peterson was the long-time owner of Peterson Welding on the west part of town on Highway 17 and a long-time town councillor spanning decades. He also briefly served as mayor during the early 1990’s. Peterson was a member of several organizations including the Legion, Lions and Free Mason. He also chaired numerous groups over the years. A visitation and memorial service is planned for the Legion Hall on Hawkins. Details are now being worked out.
