Elliot Lake council has given the Public Works Department the go-ahead to purchase two new pieces of equipment.
Council approved the purchase of a tandem plow/sanding truck for $245,000 plus taxes from TMS Trucking Center, some $25,000 below budget.
Council also approved buying a Kubota Utility Tractor for nearly $60,000, which also came in below budget saving nearly $16,000.
Both pieces of equipment are to replace aged out units.
The two pieces are expected to arrive in mid-summer.
