Elliot Lake council hopes to see the vacant Treasurer/Director of Finance position filled quickly now that they have given approval to the hiring of a head-hunting firm to find the right fit.

City CAO, Daniel Gagnon says they received around 30 bids but brought the list down to six.

He says they used a two-envelope process so that the work that would be carried out could be compared in each bid, and then the financial bid was opened.

The firm, Feldman Daxon Partners Inc. were the successful bidder with a bid of $29,380.

The position has been vacant for almost a year following the resignation of Dr. Timothy Vine last August.
