First Nation Chief raises Aboriginal treaty questions

The Chief of the Serpent River First Nation says the province isn’t doing enough to deal with treaty obligations fairly.  Isadore Day was part of the northern delegation that met with northern development minister Michael Gravelle in Sault Ste. Marie.  He says during interviews with the media Gravelle and other officials appeared to avoid talking about treaty discussions.  Day says what’s disturbing is that on one hand Ontario talks about recognizing treaties at the table but doesn’t declare that publicly.  For Day that suggests the Wynne Liberals don’t have a clear plan to deal with First Nation treaties.
