A man charged with killing a mother of three in a Webbwood house fire two years ago has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
According to the Sudbury Star, 31-year-old Joseph Michael Pollard was charged with first-degree murder in the death but pled to the lesser charge on Wednesday.
During pre-trial motions, the guilty plea was entered by Pollard’s defence lawyer ending the need for a trial in the fall
The homicide victim, 32-year-old Alicia Armstrong was found inside the burned out home.
A sentencing hearing will now be held Friday morning at the Sudbury Courthouse for Pollard.
