The I’s have been dotted and the T’s crossed for a three-day heavy metal music concert in Elliot Lake.
Music promoter Corey McKenzie has been putting together the event for the last year and met with the council a week ago Monday seeking final approval, but some of the members wanted authorizations in place including proof of $5-million dollar liability, camping, and parking availability and security.
In the end, he satisfied the council and was also granted his request to have the event given the status of a Significant Municipal Event.
That paves the way for one of the last hurdles since the designation is required for approval by the AGCO, the body that gives the go-ahead for liquor permits for such events.
The Atomic Music Fest will be held at the Mount Dufour Ski Hill from August 9th through 11th.
