Pointer Boat featured in national boating magazine

It may have been dry-docked many years ago, but the Friends of the Spanish River Pointer Boat continues to make waves.

Bill McKenna, the former chair of the Friends, has written an article about the 32-foot replica built by Ed Tate of Sudbury for the Friends back in 2000.

The article is the main feature of this month’s edition of the Classic Boat Magazine produced by the Antique and Classic Boat Society of Toronto, which be distributed at a major boat show.

McKenna says he is excited to attend the 39th Annual Summer Vintage Boat Show in Gravenhurst July 4th and 6th, which attracts thousands.

And, although he is not bringing the boat, which is on permanent display at the Massey Area Museum, he is excited to promote the North Shore and the history of logging in Northern Ontario.
