There will be no live-streaming or videotaping at Sables-Spanish Rivers Township council meetings for at least a year.
A petition signed by over 130 residents was presented to council earlier this Spring asking for the service to be implemented.
Last night council had a limited discussion about videotaping the meetings, then mounting the video on the township website the next day.
However, glitching with local internet problems was cited as the reason it wouldn’t likely work.

In the end, council defeated the motion in a recorded vote, four to three.
The matter cannot be raised with council again for at least a year.
