Alzheimer’s Walk raises over $50,000

The goal was $50,000 and for the Alzheimer Society of Sudbury-Manitoulin, North Bay & Districts, it was an accomplishment indeed.

Three separate annual IG Wealth Management Walks for Alzheimer’s were held on Sunday; in Espanola, North Bay and Sudbury.

The money raised stays local and helps out with various programming such as education and Awareness Initiatives, In-home Activation and Recreation Therapy to help those living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.

Alzheimer Societies across Canada provide programs and support services to help people with all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, in addition to assisting their caregivers and families to live to their fullest ability. The Alzheimer Society is one of Canada’s leading funders of dementia research. Since 1989, it has invested over $53 million in biomedical and quality of life research through the Alzheimer Society Research Program.

The Alzheimer Society is a key partner in the development of Canada’s first national dementia strategy, which will enhance research efforts and ensure access to quality care and support for all.
