A Justice of the Peace has charged a Sudbury police officer with assault. The JP laid the charge after hearing an allegation that the accused pushed a prisoner’s head through a closed window when he was un-cuffed. At the time the Sudbury police cleared constable Christopher Labreche for his actions. The JP ordered the cop back to court March 11th for a first appearance. The prisoner claims all he did when his handcuffs came off was to put his hands by his waist. Sudbury police say they can’t comment because the matter is now before the courts.
