A second integrity commissioner is being hired by the City of Elliot Lake.
A motion to hire the firm Cunningham Swan of Kingston, Ontario as Integrity Commissioner was moved by councilor Norman Mann.
The Sault Ste. Marie firm, E4M, was originally hired as Integrity Commissioner, but councilors are concerned that the firm is not able to deal with the issues that have already arisen in the last six months.
City CAO, Daniel Gagnon, says they hired E4M because they were half the price, but that was not the right decision.
In the end, the council passed the motion to hire Cunningham Swan, which will handle any new issues that arise while E4M will continue to be retained to complete the investigations already underway.
