Members of the public will have the opportunity to apply for a position on the steering committee for Espanola’s Strategic Plan.
The town is in the process of updating the document and council passed a motion with a focus on transparency.
LAMBAC, the local area business corporation, will be contacted to provide assistance when necessary on a cost recovery basis and another Oracle Poll will be carried out to get input from the people of Espanola; and department heads and staff will be asked for their input.
And, for the first time, three members of the public at large, will sit on the steering committee that will be formed later this year.
Espanola has not updated its plan since 2012.
