Health officer reassures Algoma residents over health programming and services

Sudbury’s medial officer of health says she will ensure that all public health programming in Algoma meets the needs of the residents.  Doctor Penny Sutcliffe was commenting after Algoma Public Health named her its acting medical officer of health.  Sutcliffe stepped in when the health unit’s former medical officer of health suddenly quit last week.  Doctor Kim Barker was involved with an employee at the health unit who used an alias while working at APH.  The employee served prison time for fraud although no one knew this at the time he was hired because of the alias and no one carried out a background check.
