Elliot Lake and Billings are receiving funding for tourism initiatives.
Greg Rickford, the Minister of Energy, Northern Development and Mines announced an investment of over $1.3 million.
He says the government is helping attract visitors, create good jobs and modernize infrastructure.
 Projects include $1 million for the Township of Billings on Manitoulin Island to complete infrastructure improvements to the Kagawong waterfront.
The City of Elliot Lake is receiving $282,080 to improve its tourism information area, known as The Trailhead, local tourism information services, as well as to expand and redevelop the boat launch area located on the shore of Elliot Lake.
