Another Eat Local Day is in the books

It may only have been for one day, but Rainbow students did their part to reduce their carbon footprint where food is involved.  The students took part in an Eat Local Day where the food they ate at school was grown within a 150 mile radius of Sudbury.  The event was part of a monthly series of environmental education programs at Rainbow schools.  High school cafeteria had food brought in from Alzida like potatoes as well as apples and carrots from Lavigne and cheese from Warren.  Students who brown bag it were asked to try and bring food bought from local and regional farms.  In  addition to creating awareness about regional food, students learned the value of eating healthy through some of the cafeteria meals.
