The Swanson family from the Worthington area will receive nearly $2,500 in financial assistance, thanks to the generosity of the public and the assistance of the Espanola Beer Store and Beaver Lake Sports Club.
A bottle drive was held last month culminating in the final collection of over 1,800 bottles and cans this Saturday as part of the Spring Fair traded in totaling $1,450.
A donation of $1,000 from the Gord Heffern Golf Tournament was added to the kitty for the Swanson family.
Morgan Swanson has undergone a double lung transplant and is recovering in Toronto, so the funding will offset some of the costs not covered by any supporting agencies.
