The final location for a new community hub in Elliot Lake will be the former Algo Mall property purchased by the city last month.
The hub will contain a fitness facility, ice arena, curling facilities and a swimming pool.
Plans to house a theatre and arts component in the same building has been nixed and will be developed as a separate project.
Council approved the site last night to meet deadline for provincial and federal funding for a shovel ready property.
