Some new funding for infrastructure and service delivery will mean a slight tax increase in Espanola.
Espanola CAO, Cynthia Townsend, says she expects that final tax increase to drop to less than one-per-cent by the time the document is finalized on May 14th.
Savings were found by cancelling a new carpet in the library, a slight decrease in education taxes and some utilizing reserves to complete local capital projects.
For example, Townsend says the federal gas tax funding will help to pay for water and sewer line replacement and road reconstruction along a good stretch of Mead Blvd.
