Algoma Public Health cancels Tuesday appointments in wake of ransomware attack

A ransomware attack last Friday took out the servers for Algoma Public Health, which led to the cancellation of appointments yesterday.

The attack blocked access to their servers.

Dr. Marlene Spruyt, the medical officer of health, says it appears no personal information or client information was taken.

She adds the I.T. department was able to quickly disconnect the servers from the internet on Friday.

They hope to be back on line today and rebooking cancelled appointments.
