Algoma-Manitoulin MPP, Mike Mantha, will be talking to library users across the province including a stop in Espanola.
The Ontario budget has cut library funding in half and that has already led to Ontario Library Services – North cancelling the interlibrary loan service as of April 29th.
It is the agency that supports some 28 libraries in Northern Ontario including all of the ones in our local area.
Michael Tibollo said the cuts are part of the government’s efforts to address the province’s $11.7-billion deficit.
Algoma-Manitoulin MPP, Mike Mantha, will be at the Espanola Library this morning at 9:00am to talk to users about the loss of funding and other services.
