Lobsterfest assists Massey family

Espanola’s Lobsterfest was founded five years ago by David Gallant, an Espanola High School teacher and coach of Canadian athlete, Caroline Ehrhardt, to assist her with expenses related to her track and field competitions.

Since then, the annual event has also assisted other members of the community and the Espanola Hospital Foundation Therapeutic Garden.

This year’s proceeds will assist Beth Cassidy of Massey who is waiting for a liver transplant.

The money will offset the $1,500 a month in drugs she needs, as well as travel and accommodations for her family.

The popular gathering will be held on Saturday, May 25th with tickets available in the near future.
