OPP end alleged political bribe case in Sudbury

A provincial by-election in Sudbury will go ahead without the specter of an OPP investigation into bribery allegations.  Andrew Olivier, who is running as an Independent, alleges Liberals bribed him into not running for the party in the by-election.  However all the Liberals Olivier names deny bribing him although they admit to talking to him.  After talking to all parties, the OPP say no crime was committed and that’s the end of the matter.  High-ranking Liberals asked Olivier to step aside so they could appoint a star candidate.  That turned out to be Glenn Thibeault Sudbury’s former NDP MP, who defected to the Liberals.
