St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake has raised about $1-million of the $1.5-million dollars it needs for a new CT scanner.
Part of that funding came from a talent show fund-raiser held this past Saturday at the Renaissance Active Living Centre organized by centre vice-president, Val Spencer.
Spencer says just under $13,000 was raised with around 200 people taking it all in.
She says work has also been done on the room at the hospital to prepare for installation of the new equipment expected by the end of the year.
The fundraising will continue with another concert in June.
