Elliot Lake council has honoured a local man and his son for saving a life.
Last night, Marc Bernatchez and his son, Matthew, were presented with certificates by Mayor Dan Marchisella and MP Carol Hughes for saving a life of a fellow camper.
The two had gone hunting at McCarthy Lake on the last weekend of September and met up with Dave Reed who was also camping in the area.
The Sunday, Reed flipped his canoe and was spotted by the duo, who saved him.
The two thanked council and Hughes for the presentations.
