Government to convene Great Lakes Guardians’ Council

The Great Lakes will be the focus of a major council meeting being held in memory of Great Water Woman, Josephine Mandamin.
Rod Phillips, Minister of the Environment, Conservation and Parks, will convene the Great Lakes Guardians’ Council to discuss emerging issues around the Great Lakes on April 23rd.
The meeting will update the negotiations of a new Canada-Ontario Great Lakes Agreement, review the Great Lakes Strategy, as well as address excess road salt and sewer overflows.

Mandamin co-founded Mother Earth Water Walk in 2003, walking over 17,000 kilometres along the shores of all five Great Lakes.
