Espanola swears in new police chief

Espanola didn’t go far to find its next police chief.  He’s Steve Edwards who started the local canine unit with the department.  Edwards was given his new badge in a ceremony attended by high-ranking officials.  Among them were the community’s former police chiefs, Bob Towns and Ray Freeman who were dressed in their former chief’s uniforms.  Also at the event were mayor Ron Piche and Carol Hughes, the MP for Algoma Manitoulin Kapuskasing.  Edwards becomes Espanola’s sixth police chief.
