Acquisition of Espanola Hydro underway

The public can make comments about the eventual purchase of Espanola Hydro by North Bay Hydro.

North Bay (Espanola) Acquisition Inc., an affiliate of North Bay Hydro Distribution Ltd., has applied for approval to acquire the two corporations, which oversee Espanola Hydro.

The move will lead to the amalgamation of the three under the name; Espanola Regional Hydro Distribution Corporation.

Public comments can be made by March 19th.

Espanola Hydro services Espanola, Webbwood and Massey.

This is phase one of a two-phase process that requires approval from the Ontario Energy Board.

In 2022 and as part of the second phase of the transaction, North Bay Hydro Distribution Limited will apply to the board to amalgamate the two as a single electricity distribution company under the name

North Bay Hydro Distribution Ltd.
