Anishinaabe police find gun used in shooting

The Anishinaabe Police recovered a gun they believe was used in a shooting incident on M’Chigeeng First Nation that saw two people injured and six others, mostly teens, arrested.

UCCM Anishinaabe Police Service Police Chief, Rodney Nahwegahbow, says they do not believe there are any outstanding weapons that have yet to be found in connection to the February 2nd shooting.

The Chief says on February 5th, members of the service seized a firearm at a residence in M’Chigeeng, which is suspected to be the same one that was used in the shooting incident.

He would not speculate if the shooting was drug-related stating the investigation is ongoing.

Two female teen, three male teens and one adult male were arrested in connection to the incident.
