One of the biggest stories in the north this year has been the Ring of Fire. And both the federal and provincial governments have taken hits for lack of work at the site. On the provincial side, the Tories’ northern development critic, Norm Miller, wants to know why the Liberals haven’t accessed a federal program to kick-start the project. The feds created the $2.7 billion program for mega projects like the Ring of Fire, and Miller wants to know why the Liberals won’t dip into it. Federally, it’s the NDP hammering the Harper Tories on the chromite project. Nickel Belt MP Claude Gravelle says the feds are refusing to invest in the project. Instead, Gravelle says Harper is playing a blame game with the provincial Liberals.
