Armed robbery in Mississauga First Nation

East Algoma OPP is investigating an armed robbery at a cigarette store in Mississauga First Nation.

Community Safety Officer, Bev Gauthier, says police were called out to the store on Highway 17 on Saturday evening at 8:30pm.

Gauthier says a masked Caucasian man entered the store and brandished a handgun pointing it at two women in the store.

He demanded the cashier open the register and hand over money, some $2,000 in cash and also took the patron’s cell phone before taking off in an unknown vehicle.
