City and team denies rumours of impending sale

Staffing changes are not expected to be made any time soon with the Elliot Lake Wildcats.

The City of Elliot Lake and the Wildcats board of directors are publicly denying social media reports about the junior hockey club being up for sale.

They say that contrary to false reports, neither the city nor the hockey club is asking any former coaches to return to Elliot Lake for a coaching or GM position and both parties also deny that the Wildcats are up for sale.
Elliot Lake CAO, Dan Gagnon stated, the team is a community based, not-for-profit organization and the city couldn’t offer to sell it under any circumstances.

The Chair of the Wildcats Board, Brad Lees, says the rumours are not only unfounded, but malicious.

Lees adds there will be a news release on the status on staffing prior to the end of the current season.
