A preliminary study of the Little Current Swing Bridge, which is the direct link to the mainland and Highway Six, is available for public review.

It undertook a study this fall outlining possible alternatives and have come up with five: do nothing and continue to maintain it as best they can; replace with a ferry; replace with a tunnel; replace with a moveable bridge or replace with a fixed bridge.
The Little Current Swing Bridge was built in 1913 by Algoma East Rail as a rail bridge connecting Manitoulin Island to the mainland.
The second of three public review sessions is set for August where the alternatives will be discussed with the public.
