A North Bay man has been charged with a murder that occurred 20 years ago in Sudbury.

On Tuesday, Greater Sudbury Police charged 39-year old Robert Steven Wright with first degree murder in connection to the Renee Sweeney homicide case.
On January 27, 1998, Sweeney was stabbed at her workplace and died at the scene.

At the beginning of November, investigative techniques were used to gather forensic evidence leading to the arrest and search warrant, which were carried out in North Bay yesterday.

Wright, who was 18-years-old at the time and attending Lockerby Secondary Composite, will be in bail court in Sudbury on December 12th.

The investigation continues.
