Firing off gun leads to charges on Manitoulin Island

Manitoulin OPP investigated a man firing off a gun late at night.

Manitoulin OPP media officer, Marie Ford, says this past Saturday, November 24th at around 1:00 in the morning, police investigated reports of a man shooting from a residence on Highway 542 in Campbell Township.

OPP tactical squads, including canine and an aerial drone, were called in and a 49-year-old man was arrested with incident.

He has been charged with careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and careless storage of a firearm.

Several firearms were also seized.
