Manitoulin Island teen facing several charges involving theft

Two police services have laid a number of charges against a Manitoulin Island 19-year-old.
OPP media officer, Marie Ford says on Monday, November 19th around 7:00am, police received a report of a stolen vehicle, as well as thefts from vehicles and garages on Thorne Street in Mindemoya on Manitoulin Island.

Officers from the Sudbury detachment of the OPP also a traffic complaint involving the same vehicle and found it on Highway 17 in Walden Township.

The 19-year-old from M’Chigeeng First Nation is facing 13 charges in all including possession of stolen property, running from police, uttering threats and break and enter.

He is to appear in Sudbury court on December 5th and Gore Bay court on January 9th.
