Elliot Lake man charged for carrying a baton

An Elliot Lake man is facing charges for carrying a collapsible baton.

Elliot Lake OPP say on Wednesday, October 31st just after 9:30am, they were called out a secondary school on Mississauga Avenue.

Police found numerous suspicious persons on the property and when officers spoke to one man, he proceeded to empty his pockets in search for his identification.

While doing so, a collapsible baton fell onto the ground.
The 26-year-old from Elliot Lake has been charged with unauthorized possession of weapon and possession of weapon for dangerous purpose.

He is to appear in Elliot Lake on December 4th.
