Canada Post rotating strikes begin

Canada Post employees started rotating strikes in four cities across Canada and there could be more including those closer to home.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) gave Canada Post until the end of this past weekend to reach an agreement and avoid the union’s strike action.

Workers in Espanola and Elliot Lake could also hit the picket lines in rotating strikes if called on by the union to do so, or they could be locked out if no resolution is found to the contract impasse.

According to the union, the strike lasted for 24 hours in four major cities: Victoria, Edmonton, Windsor and Halifax in the rotating strikes.
