Brookfield Renewable makes donations to three women’s shelters

Brookfield Renewable is donating a total of $45,000 to support three Algoma district women’s shelters including the Mississaugi Women’s Shelter of Blind River.

Company operations vice-president, Jim Deluzio, says as an owner, operator and developer of renewable power facilities, Brookfield Renewable recognizes its role as an active contributor to the quality of life in the communities where they live and work.

He adds, together with their business partners, they organized an annual fundraising golf tournament to increase charitable support for organizations close to their facilities and the choice to help women’s shelters in the Algoma District with this year’s proceeds reflects the values they embody.

The donation will help improve services and invest in prevention initiatives, adds Yvonne Lafreniere, the manager of the Mississaugi Women’s Shelter.
