Reason to celebrate – French Catholic graduation rate highest in local districts

Northern Ontario school board has one of the best graduation rates in Ontario.

The Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario graduation rate is not only one of the best in Ontario, they also have the highest among all boards in districts of Sudbury, Manitoulin and Algoma.

Board education director, Lyse-Anne Papineau, says the board is pleased to see their strategies and dedicated staff provide a springboard to success for their students.

89.2 per cent receiving their diploma in four years while 92.7 per cent of its students complete the requirements for their high school diploma in less than five years.

The CSCNO takes great pride in knowing that its Catholic secondary school students consistently achieve this level of excellence. Since 2012, the five-year graduation rate of CSCNO students has systematically hovered around 92 per cent. The 2017 provincial average for graduation within five years of starting secondary school was 86.3 per cent, while 79.8 per cent of students received their diplomas in four years.
