Manitoulin man recovering from gunshot wound

Two men are facing attempted murder charges following a shooting on Manitoulin Island.

Wikwemikoong Tribal Police and the Manitoulin OPP are investigating a shooting that took place Saturday night.

Police says a man is recovering from a gunshot wound in the abdomen and is in stable condition.

The altercation took place at a home in the Hills Trail area of the Wiikwemikoong Unceded Territory.

Police add two men, aged 18 and 20, have been charged with attempted murder and various weapons charges.

If anyone has information about the altercation, they are asked to call police.
