City sells declares land surplus to accommodate business expansion

Elliot Lake council has declared some municipal land surplus to make way for a local business expansion.

Council agreed to sell a small portion of the existing Public Works yard on Timber Road to Timberock International for a planned expansion of their existing manufacturing facility.

Council declared just over half-an-acre as surplus to begin the land sale process.

Mayor Dan Marchisella says the city is happy to accommodate a growing business and major employer in the community by selling a small, non-essential parcel of land being used for outside storage.

Timberock will cover all of the city’s legal and administrative expenses and pay $10,000 for the small parcel of land.

Timberock is located beside the City’s Public Works yard.
