OPP release name of victim killed in Sturgeon Falls shooting

The OPP have released the name of one of the two victims involved in last week’s shooting in Sturgeon Falls.

Dead is 35-year-old Jaime Boyd of Sturgeon Falls.

The name of the 59-year-old woman who was injured in the shooting still hasn’t been released.

The OPP say she remains in hospital in stable condition.

As for the 46-year-old man police went after in connection with the shooting, they won’t be the agency releasing his name.

That’s up to the Special Investigations Unit which is still investigating the case.

The 46-year-old was found dead after running from the police and the SIU says he suffered a gunshot wound.

No information has been released yet by the SIU if the wound was self-inflicted or if it was the result of police firing at the man.
