Liberal MPs hold rural caucus meeting; list priorities

Nickel Belt MP Marc Serre has wrapped up a rural caucus meeting in Eastern Quebec where Liberal MPs talked about how to help the rural ridings.

Among the issues Serre raised with his fellow MPs was improving access to high-speed broadband and increasing infrastructure opportunities.

Another big topic was finding solutions to the lack of skilled workers in rural communities.

The rural MPs also talked about how to push for the creation of a ministry that only deals with rural issues.

Serre is the chairman of the National Liberal Rural Caucus and advises the Prime Minister about rural issues on a regular basis.
