Sudbury police investigate two gas bar robberies

A Val Caron man is charged with robbery using a firearm after a gas bar in Val Caron was robbed.

The outlet was robbed at gun point by a man who kept his face hidden.

The man brandished the gun, demanded money and then took off.

It’s not known how much money was taken.

The robbery took place on August 12th and by the 17th Sudbury police had their man.

Other charges the 33-year-old faces are pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and disguise with intent.

The Val Caron gas station robbery is one of two to take place in the Greater Sudbury region.

Shortly after midnight Monday a woman robbed a gas station on Sudbury’s Kingsway with a knife.

The woman is 40 to 60 years old and has reddish brown hair.

When the woman demanded the money from the cash register, the store worker complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash.

The employee wasn’t hurt.
