Malia Latendresse of Espanola is growing and doing fairly well, but needs ongoing medical treatment for her spina befida.
The daughter of Alexcie Dillen and Dylan Latendresse, Malia was diagnosed before she was born and had surgery shortly after her birth.
Alexie says Malia will need a hip harness to mold her hips into their sockets and casting for her club feet.
She adds the ongoing treatment will require travelling to Toronto once a week for six weeks.
To help the family offset costs not covered by support programs, a spaghetti dinner and silent auction is being held at the Massey Legion tonight from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
