The NDP caucus has elected Algoma-Manitoulin MPP, Michael Mantha, as the new caucus chair.
Having Michael Mantha as caucus chair is a great addition to our NDP team, said NDP Leader Andrea Horwath.
The caucus chair is a position that provides leadership to the MPPs, fulfilling duties like chairing internal caucus discussion on bills and priorities.
It’s an honour to be chosen by my colleagues as caucus chair, said Mantha.
Mantha has represented the people of Algoma-Manitoulin since 2011.
He is also the NDP critic for Northern Development and Mines, Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation, and Tourism, Culture and Sports.
