Nairn arrests: multiple charges laid after several theft investigations

Espanola OPP responded to numerous theft complaints in Nairn and Hyman Township arresting two men from southern Ontario.

OPP Constable Marie Ford says on Wednesday afternoon, officers located a stolen pick-up truck which led them to an isolated area north of Nairn Centre.
The officers recovered various stolen items, including generators, an all-terrain vehicle, dirt bike, licence plates and more, property that had been reported stolen from Orillia, Espanola and Simcoe.

65-year-old Gaston Gagnon of Toronto is charged with: possession of marihuana; five counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and two counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The second man, also named Gaston Gagnon, 29 years of age from Barrie is facing 20 charges including theft of motor vehicle: six counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000; failure to comply with bail conditions and possession of stolen property.
