Killens – taxpayers want government to intervene in school board decision

Manitoulin Island taxpayers are planning to fight the Rainbow District School Board’s move of blocking their trustee from board meetings.

Around 100 taxpayers gathered at a town hall meeting Wednesday to find out why trustee Larry Killens has been barred – he says he has done nothing wrong, the board says he has breached the code of conduct.

But, organizer Jason Chandler says Larry had done the right thing for the people he represents.

Chandler says supporters have started a petition to the Ontario Ministry of Education and is asking people to contact MPP Mike Mantha about their concerns.
