Three municipalities; Killarney, French River and Henvey Inlet First Nation have declared emergencies in the wake of Parry Sound Fire 33.
Ontario Provincial Police Constable Carmel McDonald says OPP are being called in to help with mandatory evacuations in the French River Provincial Park, Key River, the Pickerel River, as well as Hartley Bay areas.
Until fire crews are able to secure the entire perimeter of the fire, the area restriction, including the water access restriction will stay in place.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is asking everyone to respect the total fire ban across the north east.
People travelling along highway 69 in the Key River and Henvey Inlet area may experience smoke along the highway. Please drive accordingly.
